MANIA productions presents:

            Mania Productions presents: Kyle Sartorelli in his first solo exhibition entitled “Alcoholics Synonymous” , opening on Friday, November 6th at the Borg Ward Collective.  The title is “… a comment on my alcoholic-like addiction to drawing,” says artist Kyle Sartorelli.  This follow up show from Mania! productions, who brought you Jesse Engelbrecht, features another explosive artist sure to blow you away! The show runs through the christmas season, for the entire month of November and into December.  The show features a variety of dynamic works from the exciting young artist Kyle Sartorelli. The installation will include drawings, paintings, murals, and more…Sure to be a hit!

            Kyle’s work employs all sorts of medias: including ink, acrylic, pen, markers, spray enamel, wheat-paste,oil paint and more: coupled with witty humor,alcohol, views, thoughts and critiques of life to create a full picture.  Every work starts in a new way, never with preliminary sketches or studies, but beginning fresh and letting the work dictate itself.  Its alot like taking a bunch of imagery, styles, techniques and jokes; then placing them in a blender and hitting pulse.  The result of this is exciting and adventurous, keeping the viewer stimulated and intrigued.  Ranging from more abstract works to tighter rendered images, you may struggle to keep up. Watch out or Mania will strike you!

            The Borg Ward is located at 823 W. National, and is an artist’s run and operated venue for all types of creative endeavors.  The gallery is independently supported through studio spaces, shows, and donations.  The Borg Ward promotes a wide array of artists, united in independent ethics and experimental DIY tactics.  It is a non-profit gallery, focused on pushing the boundaries of the showing experience with experimental, installation based artists.  The Borg Ward is one of the few galleries in Milwaukee to give full creative control and freedom to artist, allowing for full utilization of the gallery space.  They challenge the artists to push their work in reflection to the atmosphere of the gallery, making the most of their potential.

Phosphene : a Video Art Spontaneous Installation at Borg Ward Collective in temporal accordance with Milwaukee Noise Festival. Televisions. Video Loops. Art. Music. Noise. One Place. One Weekend. Phosphene : both free-form and structured. It will display work that explores more abstract, distorted, mechanical/organic possibilities through visual/video and more. The installation will occupy the gallery side of the Borg Ward venue and will provide a visual counterpart/doppelganger for the sound performances of Milwaukee Noise Festival. Users/viewers will be in for a weekend of visual and auditory overload. Phosphene : a ring or spot of light produced by pressure on the eyeball or direct stimulation of the visual system other than by light. Sept. 24 - 26

The Legend of En:

Our story is the tale of a young girl named En and her journey to bring her home back to life after it has been ravaged by a mechanical curse. With the aid of an elder Wolf, she must leave her forest on a floating island and visit the realm of the Onion Queen. She then discovers a floating ivory tea ceremony in an obsidian maze, and braves the depths of an electric sea in order to locate the Pieces of Sovereignty that might save her home. In the end, to save the world, En must destroy a thousand-eyed beast before it consumes all that she holds dear.
