MANIA Productions Presents: Alcoholics Synonymous
Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 Mania Productions presents: Kyle Sartorelli in his first solo exhibition entitled “Alcoholics Synonymous” , opening on Friday, November 6th at the Borg Ward Collective. The title is “… a comment on my alcoholic-like addiction to drawing,” says artist Kyle Sartorelli. This follow up show from Mania! productions, who brought you Jesse Engelbrecht, features another explosive artist sure to blow you away! The show runs through the christmas season, for the entire month of November and into December. The show features a variety of dynamic works from the exciting young artist Kyle Sartorelli. The installation will include drawings, paintings, murals, and more…Sure to be a hit!
Kyle’s work employs all sorts of medias: including ink, acrylic, pen, markers, spray enamel, wheat-paste,oil paint and more: coupled with witty humor, alcohol, views, thoughts and critiques of life to create a full picture. Every work starts in a new way, never with preliminary sketches or studies, but beginning fresh and letting the work dictate itself. Its alot like taking a bunch of imagery, styles, techniques and jokes; then placing them in a blender and hitting pulse. The result of this is exciting and adventurous, keeping the viewer stimulated and intrigued. Ranging from more abstract works to tighter rendered images, you may struggle to keep up. Watch out or Mania will strike you!
The Borg Ward is located at 823 W. National, and is an artist’s run and operated venue for all types of creative endeavors.
